Go to the book section your local Goodwill. The selection will likely be pretty small. Find something with an pretty cover (whoever said to not judge a book by its cover was a liar), cool title or interesting blurb. Don’t look up the book or the reviews. Just start reading and form your own opinions, without the internet.
This method brought me to Philip Margolin’s thriller “Gone, but Not Forgotten,” which I have never previously heard about. It may not be the best book I have ever read, but it is still a fun and intriguing mystery. Definitely a page turner.
