asking your dad if he'S REALLY DOING OKAY & WHAT HE'S INTERESTED IN THESE DAYS

This has strengthened our relationship so much and his lore is always insane. Dads always be doing the most random shit, but no one ever asks them about it. Since i've been asking my dad more about his day to day he gets so excited to tell me about all of the random things he's trying and learning. It's precious.

you're about to go to sleep. you tell him to have a good day and he tells you good night. it's new for both of you, but you're trying to make time. quiet hours of the day, opposite sides of the world. sometimes you get to look at the same moon

I'm not talking about your local NPR affiliate, I mean the low frequency weirdo station playing ethiopian jazz, arabic synthpop, bootleg covers of motown classics sung in Spanish, and skateboarding music (whatever that is). My local station is KUAA 99.9FM, you can listen online! I also love CHIRP (Chicago), KMHD (Portland jazz station), and KXLU (Los Angeles). Sounds good, feels good, no annoying commercials, and- best of all- it's not spotify.
