Anjali Lewis embodies the essence of Perfectly Imperfect: thoughtful leadership, bold creative vision, and an authentic, unpolished approach to building something lasting. As the GM of Retail at Air Mail, she’s redefined what it means to merge editorial identity with physical product—building a retail presence that feels as intentional and stylishly offbeat as the publication itself. She doesn’t chase trends; she shapes culture from the inside out. Whether it’s curating a product lineup that tells a story or leading a small team with immense care, Anjali’s work is thoughtful, surprising, and unmistakably her own. She’s not about perfection—she’s about clarity, character, and doing things differently

My friend Liz runs Laila, a natural dye company. What started as a hobby and side practice has evolved into a small business offering monthly workshops, a community space, and size inclusive apparel. Dynamically hued scarves and ribbons are for sale year-round, while she offers hand-dyed vintage apparel on a seasonal basis. She frequently collaborates with other small businesses that align with her values, whether its for a limited-run product or a pop-up workshop, and grows most of her materials in her own garden. Nothing mind blowing but I’m so biased at how much I love Alexa + her style. I’m sure part of it is she’s…almost ‘built’ to wear what she does (?) but she pulls it off really well. The emphasis on denim and suede together is really well done and I think anything you manage to get from here will be wearable forever.

I absolutely adore the clothes from Fashion Brand Company. There’s a sense of humor about the pieces, while also somehow still being really sexy. Penelope Gazin is a genius funny chic artist, and every new thing she ever puts out I’m dying to wear. Fashion Brand Company 4ever!

We all know the song, “Last Christmas,” but do you know “Wham Rap! (Enjoy What You Do?)” If not, I highly suggest listening to it when needing a boost of energy. There is also a wonderful documentary on Netflix about the band that is worth the watch. Take a deep dive into Wham’s catalogue and enjoy.
