I’m an academic so i find really good inspiration in good nonfiction

Sophie Lewis, Christina Sharpe, Clair Wills, Brian Dillon, Lola Olufemi, Elizabeth Hardwick, Francesca Wade, Annie Ernaux, Carmen Maria Machado, Darryl Pinckney, Leslie Jamison, Françoise Vergés………reading good stuff that even isn’t related to what i do just inspires me to be a better writer and a more careful conscientious thinker. recently finished Jason Okundaye’s Revolutionary Acts which is a superb, beautifully written oral history.
