I love when bodies, especially womens bodies, are shown as beautiful instead of sexual

TBH I feel like this sculptor is very much a fan of the female form, in much the same way that I think whoever made this one wood carving of Saint Sebastian that's in my neighborhood art museum is likely very into men...I don't think it cheapens the art at all and it's definitely not impure or anything! I just feel the energy lol

@EARTHTOTHEDAYDREAMER Well, I agree with you. Of course, the person who made those sculptures really loves women, but there is a difference between embracing and appreciating women's bodies and sexualizing them, making it seem like their bodies are created just for sex, if that makes sense to you.

@EARTHTOTHEDAYDREAMER yes that makes sense! at first I thought you were saying these pieces were sexless and I disagree, but I do think they thread the needle very well where they clearly show a sensual appreciation without being objectifying

The weird and recent perspective that all nudity is pornographic in nature bugs me so much like.. it can represent so many different things or represent nothing at all!!

@GRAPE statues like this are so beautiful because the human form is beautiful

@GRAPE Yeah I mean I never really understood what’s so sexual about a woman’s breasts or even her hair in some places. At the end of the day, it’s just a body

@SAJA I mean as a straight guy I definitely understand the appeal but it's all about context ! However I could not tell you whether that attraction is inherent or learned through societal influence.

@GRAPE I personally think it’s something that’s taught. A woman’s hair, face and even hands are seen as very seductive or tempting to men in some regions, while in the west they’re clearly not because from a young age you grow up seeing those parts as completely normal. But that’s just my personal take maybe I’m wrong.

To me... there is nothing more beautiful than human art! Unfortunately I think we have made enough of it and don’t need to make anymore.

sometimes we need to watch something that makes us feel ugly and accept that some art is morally corrupt.

When I was seven, an 80s movie aired on TV, and I watched it until my mom turned it off at bedtime. I cried, wanting to see the rest, but she refused, and I eventually fell asleep. The next day, I couldn’t remember the movie’s name, so I never finished it—until today. It aired again, and the experience was surreal; I remembered every detail and finally saw the ending.
