Laid off from my dream job only to work at a toxic company after five months of searching, then left that for a great gig that ended abruptly, leading me into four more months of unemployment. But now I’ve got a job and ready to rebuild!
@PUMPKIN_PIE been there! a couple of times I had an interview with a hiring manager who couldn’t stop talking about themselves, so I said almost nothing in an hour lol
@PUMPKIN_PIE Those were men and, I bet, they were looking to hire men huh Fun fact: I always get hired when a company has a woman in managemen. If there are men only, it’s almost always a no
@MARINA_AGL I’ve had a fair mix of mainly male and mainly female job environments. Personally cant say I’ve noticed a particular trend but could be field specific
@PUMPKIN_PIE I worked and still occasionally work with awesome men but in tech there are a lot of men who feel uncomfortable around women anyway. Some of my favourite colleagues were men and some of my dreadful colleagues were women. However, I notice when I’m looked down upon right from the start. Not sure, though, if they treat only women like that. Some people treat everyone like that
@MARINA_AGL i frel that last statement. sometimes they just have a reason to not like someone and just take it out on others. Like if you don’t impress them day one, then youre a hassle. Which is bogus
Start fresh! you don’t owe your employer anything. Be unemployed for a couple months! Might feel good. I know someone out there needs to hear this. I needed to hear this last week & now I feel great
it’s been five grueling years of anxiety, depression and gaslighting. i have finally quit the damn job, and even got a new one on the same day. this is my biggest win of 2025.
