I used to drink just because it was a weekend, I had money for cheap booze, and could walk a short distance to get it. Now I only drink when I actually want to, and probably won’t even drink at karaoke tonight even though that's “what you do” at karaoke

Drinking
Now that I’m pushing forty I’ve noticed a lot of my friends and associates suddenly getting sober. More power to them but it’s just not for me. When I do a searching moral inventory of what sparks joy in my life, I always come back to having a drink (or three) after a long day or a job well done. You won’t regret skipping dessert but not ordering a glass of wine at dinner is too much to ask.
