once my good friend described me as a sleeper hit in their life in the sense that we kind of slowly got to know each other and didn’t bond like immediately but now that we’re close it’s really great.
that’s something that only they could get away with saying lol but i liked it. it’s always taken me a little while to find my footing, and i think i prefer something that takes a bit to settle in than something that flashes and goes out right away.

such a wonderful feeling when i get to talk to someone who's been on my periphery for so long. its so odd how i constantly convince myself that some people are "too cool" for me to be friends with, but its such a pleasant surprise to really connect and get to know those types of people for who they really are.

the slow burn version of making friends. like for real friends. it's a very wholesome and gradual process that reminds you how sacred it is to meet someone you vibe with just by virtue of showing up to a place often and lingering to chat. i'm gonna come by just to say hi not necessarily to buy something now. let's make some plans. tell me your life story in a piecemeal sort of way i wanna know

if the text requires more than 3 sentences it’s a voice memo! the efficiency of just getting to speak! the intimacy of sending your voice and the process of gathering your thoughts in real time! the presence of tone and vocal inflection! i actually aspire to only ever communicate via phone calls and voice memos. texting is such a menace in my life.
