It's so intensely ephemeral and moving. I recommend listening to it very loudly in moments where your life requires a spell of cinematic momentum.

With all of the arcs, there’s a real advantage to listening to soundtracks in studio. I started listening to Desplat’s soundtrack for Birth a month ago after rewatching the movie (and realizing how the entire movie relies on the soundtrack) and now I’m hooked on his entire discography. You know something good is gonna happen when the shape of water pops up.Also strangely love all of the French Dispatch songs (might even watch the movie some day)

i just watched this film last week and it was instantly a new comfort film for me. the grading, the set design, the story, the wardrobe and THE SCORE! it’s so beautiful and i’m so glad i found bryce dessners solo music thanks to the film. the soundtrack has been on repeat. listening to it feels like a warm hug and it makes me want to sit by the ocean and ponder

very broody, atmospheric, etherial and grimy. vocals are beautiful and raspy when we get them. also, the director of the movie worked on the soundtrack with his band which is cute.

At the Jewel of the South in New Orleans. I don’t usually order alcoholic beverages let alone opt for a cocktail. But when it’s humid and the music is calling for a moment I occasionally surrender. Something summer-ry and sweet and refreshing something something.
