it‘s cherry season. i got an OXO cherry pitter this year because i’m not messing around. they are in my top 5 fruits, possibly my top 3. enjoying them lately with a scoop of yogurt and some generic granola

A week ago, I don’t think I ever intentionally sought out cherries. pits in fruit — aren’t we beyond this? There happen to be some fresh ones in a bowl of fruit accessible to me, and I was gobsmacked by its top notch flavor.

I have to agree with Ms. soft that peaches are my favorites. I thought I had eaten peaches before but I did not truly eat a peach until I moved to Ohio. The beginning of peach season is one of my most eagerly anticipated events and I buy them from my favorite farmer—a rotund old man in a red shirt and overalls— by the crateful. Part of the fun is definitely the way they just explode all over you with juice when you eat them. Once I ate a peach next to a waterfall and it was transcendent.
I love raspberries, strawberries, and especially blueberries when they’re in season—strawberry and raspberry seasons burn much too fast but blueberries grow for far longer. Big fan of cherries (I love weird tart bush cherries) and plums. A little seedless watermelon with Tajin… Tomatoes the unsung hero fruits. And shoutout to citrus fruits for holding it down I do buy lemons all year long.

avoid decision fatigue by leaving the song choices to the disc jockey, and bask in the glow of real-time music curation. the less corporate the radio station, the better (love a good college/independent radio station); shake up your genres (jazz and classical radio always get me going), but also don't be afraid to indulge in Top 40 because it's good to find out what's "going on" in pop. level up with a shower radio. good luck and godspeed 🎵

endless entertainment. i just love the way squirrels move and the way they react to things. saw this gorgeous specimen in beverly hills recently, munching on something. i wish i knew what he was thinking...
