i want to invest myself in learning how to make good food and be able to share that with others. i was thinking about how sad it is that cooking is a hobby that produces perishable work. it doesnโt last forever and eventually i will have nothing to show for what iโve done. but i think the fact that food is fleeting reflects how nothing in life lasts and everything is always changing; we can only appreciate what we have in the present and i think food brings us back to that notion. whether itโs sharing a meal at home with ur parents or catching up with a friend over lunch or enjoying a new cafe on ur own, food is meant to bring ur mind to the current moment in that u are tasting, seeing, smelling, and interacting with the item before u. to be able to offer that to my loved ones and also share that experience with them is a privilege, even if it is short-lived.
