why is social media not fun anymore?

Watching this video from Mina Le about the current state of social media, and I have to say, I've really been feeling a lot of nostalgia for the era of social media from 2010-2019 or so. It seemed like a totally different world. I think it's one of the reasons I found myself attracted to Pi.FYI--it reminded me of this now-halcyon era of the internet when it felt more like a cloud of folks sharing what they loved and kind of blogdumping, before the rise of rage-fueled algorithms and the consolidation of major social media outlets into the hands of 2-3 companies.

I'm tired of other social media where people just want to be famous or fill that emotional void that social media usually leave when nothing interesting happens. I want something that feels more casual.

promoting social media posts sucks my soul out of my body

Like, it's the most boring repulsive thing I can possibly do, it goes against everything I know, please society can we forget about social media and go back to just discovering cool sites like this one? I miss organically stumbling upon something

i absolutely love criminal minds, bones and supernatural and they seem to be the trio that i always go back to rewatching. I really miss when tv shows gave us longer seasons, complex characters and long plotlines bring back the 24 episodes per season format!!! any good tv shows recs that bring out the same vibe??
