ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW
beyond being a lifelong fandom for me, this 1975 movie and its shadow cast stagings every Halloween and Pride comprise a freaky, queer cultural touchstone that has been and will be passed down from generation to generation. and you get to yell at the screen and dress up!!
I saw a production at Rubulad, followed them, then auditioned and now i’m part of that company and have made so many friends.

100% - it's being part of my Halloween-esque rituals for years and that sense of being just yourself under the mask of a sexxxxy (not like Tim Curry tho but you try hhhhard) Dr. Frank-N-Furter dancing around grandiose old red-curtain cinemas is like... you are part of the play, you are the play, you belong there in that moment - it's just unbeatable.

just compliment them! just tell them you love their outfit! just tell them their haircut is perfect and you can't find that on pinterest! tell them "i like you," so their brain can relax and they can just be. tell them when you're reminded of something they said or taught you. tell them "i was thinking about you!" and mean it.

extend the life of your clothes by covering holes or stains with embroidery floss and yarn while giving them new cool zombie flair! you don’t even have to be neat, the more imperfect the weave the more organic the result. the best mended garments are almost fungal, covered in sick multi-colored lichen.
