Biologically speaking, yes procreation might be our reason to exist but human behaviour is far more complex than what biology says. creating something is the only way we can ever achieve happiness.
Every single one of us is an artist and we are all creatives. Create shit. Create weird shit. Create it for yourself. It doesn't matter if it's a shitty drawing, or a shitty little poem, or a shitty photograph... Just do it. The current technology has given us the means of doing whatever that fuck we want to do.
There are people doing absolutely crazy shit out there and nothing says we can't do it. Don't let some random person tell you what you can and cannot do (unless it's something terrible). Don't be afraid to be brash with your words. Don't always try to be marketable. The internet often censors the narratives it doesn't agree with but your art doesn't have to be on the internet. It's still valid if it's in your notebook or your hard drive.
Just fucking do it.

🎨I feel like there’s such pressure for creatives of all types to “make a name for themselves”, constantly be promoting and using all the right hashtags. Who cares? What if you just wanna make paintings for fun without monetary gain or fame in mind? What if you wanna make youtube videos just as a personal diary instead of becoming a “content creator” or “influencer”? What if you just enjoy making logos instead of wanting to be a career freelance designer who spends every waking moment keeping up to date on design trends? Maybe your goal is to make money and become popular for your art, and that’s great, go for it! But I think it’s just as valid to enjoy art for arts sake, and not feel a need to worry about posting it consistently and appeasing your followers.

👩just had an epiphany about how everyone seeks something different from art, how we all perceive it based on who we are as individuals … for the longest time in art/film school i’ve been scared to pursue the art i want out of fear that it will turn out very bad.
but i hope we make art anyway despite that fear, as long as it sustains ourselves and the people who matter. i hope we all get to freely make “bad” art 🫂

🚬Y'all ever write a word and suddenly it looks wrong? Like, the word just looks unusual. Then you cross it out and write it again but it's still the same cause the spelling is right but it looks so wrong! And so you repeat, but it remains the same and at that point you're agitated! What the actual fuck is wrong with me!
And so you just ignore it and continue writing but it still bothers you. You look in the dictionary and the spelling is still the same and the word still looks wrong and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.
