That on its own would be pretty embarrassing, but my kneecap hit the wall on it's way down.. I don't know which was more humbling, having to tell people why my knee was injured, or having to tell my parents (who I'm still living with) about why their wall was dented. so I hope that makes you feel better 😭

to think that when i was a kid i was falling over, skinning my knees, getting scratches, and bruises EVERY DAY while running around... falling down was so normal i just got straight back up and didn't even think about it. my 26 year old decrepit ass fell down yesterday and i was in shock for hours after...

i have a scar on my knee from tripping on nothing and falling up a concrete staircase on campus. it didn’t even cut my knee, i just smashed it so hard that the skin broke. not even that long ago too my other most notable scars are on my ankle, and they happened because i lost my shoe in the ocean and swam out to get it, but as i was walking back, a huge wave came up and smashed me down and dragged me along the bottom (which was mostly comprised of sharp rocks and shells). it cut up my ankle and foot pretty badly, but i didn’t notice until i walked all the way back to shore and my cousins said ‘you’re bleeding’. i got my shoe back though

In 2017, I took a spill while on a run. I stuck my hands out to catch myself but was moving so quickly that I just scraped my whole body across the pavement — face first. I still have a scar on my upper lip from where the concrete scraped me. I was in shock and happy I still had my teeth. I had also just started a new job, so I was between insurances and without dental, so I’m glad I didn’t really mess myself up. Instead of going to a doctor, I went out for drinks with a friend lol.

Usually hanging out with folks ends up costing me 5-15 dollars, depending on where I am. And that's on the cheaper side. A great alternative that I found out recently, is just to take your dog(s) for a walk around the city or town. Get with some friends, walk around with their dogs or your dogs (or both) and get a little fresh air. Today was my friend's dog's day, we (me and two others) took turns holding the leash and chatted for almost two hours. $0 spent, no unnecessary/boredom snacking (which I've found is usually a problem), and roughly 3 miles walked. We had a blast. (Obviously you can just walk without a dog, but I found that the dog distracts us from going into random stores and restaurants out of boredom.)

😃
9 miles, not too steep. I love going to different states and exploring wilderness there.

AGREE AGREE AGREE!!!! I've taken a gender and queer studies class, and that may have been the most eye-opening, fun class ever. My class was basically like if Instagram commentors were brought together into one room to debate each other about their personal views. While the professor did generally keep us on track, she would also let folks speak their mind, which led to some amazing discussions. Not sure what stance folks are taking with the current (us) government, but the gender studies class that I took is apparently now rebranded as 'sociology' and there's now a straight male teacher. I think that's a shame.
Understanding how we get information seems important, and not a typical college course Also, I wishI’d taken something like weight training Feminist/queer/Black studies to get a different perspective than you’ll find in most classes Any history or art class you might like And, you might not be going to Yale, but there’s a free Yale Psychology of Well Being class on Coursera I highly recommend
