recently saw the VHS tapes from my birth and discovered it was the first movie i ever saw, fresh out the womb on a hospital TV. probably thats why i like it so much
I was 3.5 when I became sentient, I had just been dropped off at my mom’s best friends house while my parents headed to the hospital to deliver my sister. there are spurts of memories that fade in from there on, playing house under palm trees in Cali, getting pinched by a sand crab at daycare, summers at my grandma‘s farm.

someone put the vhs in for me at age five and it got stuck in my memory for life. scout finch was a character i heavily related to, and I got so lost in the story that I easily could play the movie in my head when I was younger. Also the plot, the music, the vibe of childhood, the twists— amazing. couldn’t ask for a better Peck film.
