After graduating I kept my student job to fix the bills and then on the side I started applying for ones that related to my studies. Sucked ass big time. Soooo many applications and sooo many rejections. Eventually I got a paid internship through nepotism, which turned into a temp job. Was super lucky to receive that opportunity and hoping that the experience will help me when I need to start job hunting again.

Love a post-grad internship, so glad you were able to get the temp job afterwards too!! I've had a few friends who also hopped onto an internship after graduating and they tell me it makes the future job searching easier

@GEMFOUND from what Ive seen, internships and traineeships are KEY to getting started on the job market. Bc it was a post grad internship mine was technically called "work experience" but ultimately its all the same.

I thought I was too old to intern (college degree, experience, good resume, etc) but a friend connected me with a company to interview for a 3month paid internship. worked a part-time job while interning. got hired full-time immediately after the internship. tbh I don't have the biggest ego, but this was one of those 'take a step back & take two steps forward' kind of moments. very grateful and lucky. hope this encourages you!

English major here. it was legitimately so hard to find work. the job i have now is great and i kind of just stumbled into it but it doesn't pay very well. but after being jobless for a year i would have taken anything!!! i honestly don't have any advice bc i followed all the job hunting hacks and whatever and they got me nowhere. it's a miracle that I've got the job i do now 😭

Been applying for entry level work (with several years of relevant experience) since January and genuinely the only people I know who got these jobs had some connection through family or friends.

As y'all might know, I'm a climber. Which is fun, cute, sexy and I recommend everyone to become one. Only downside is that it's def a male dominated sport. There's plenty of girls who climb, but a large majority (in our gym) is male. Meaning that the likelihood of going on an outdoor climbing trip without men.. is small. Unless, of course, you organise a girls-only climbing trip. I would highly recommend doing so. Men r great but it's also nice to only be surrounded by girls who know what's it like to climb when you have a menstrual cycle and don't have a natural knack for dynamic power. Made me feel supported, seen and connected.
