as was the case with many young girls growing up in the 2010s, I was a hardcore directioner from their very first album. I was lucky enough to see them in concert when I was 13, and their music carried me through my early adolescence.
flash forward a few years to 2017, Iโm just starting my freshman year of college, and I happen to form a bond with a girl in my orientation group over our shared love of 1D. said girl went on to become one of my closest college friends, sophomore year roommate (we had matching harry & zayn tapestries on our wall), and sister for life.
reconnecting with her this past year following liam payneโs sudden tragic passing turned out to be exactly what my heart needed at this strange point in life after turning 25.
