It’s been lovely!

It’s allowed me to reconnect with a lot of parts of myself that I’ve turned away from in pursuit of practicality, and it’s nice to feel seen and appreciated! Instagram/Tiktok/Twitter/obviously Facebook give me the ick; I haven’t been a regular user of any public social media site since about 2019 when I stopped using Tumblr, which was my main outlet before. I have a lot of fun connecting with people and seeing the things that are important to them :~)

Deleted instagram for a few years

it’s the only social media app I have/use out of the big ones (twitter, tik tok, ig, facebook?) and I didn’t even notice it was gone, I was in hiding but saw more people than ever before and traveled more than before or after. Seeing people by chance I used to know from online in person made connections stronger. hard to describe the feeling but it felt so good need to do it again even though I barely use it now

hi, long time no see!

hello :) it’s been a while since i’ve used this app. i decided to log back in b/c i just deactivated my social media accounts. with the tik-tok ban coming up, i made the decision to not only delete tik-tok but also twitter. fuck zuck and elon. it’s disappointing to leave behind the pockets on the internet that i considered my community. i didn’t deactivate my insta b/c i have a ton of memories from there. i’ve been posting on insta since the 8th grade haha. so there’s a ton of sentimental stuff on there. the app is deleted from my phone and i privated it. it’ll now be like a museum/archive since i won’t use it. i’m not anti social media myself, i love the community aspect of social media and sharing my interests with like minded individuals. hence why i returned to this app. i’ll prob post a lot more on here (or not) i’ll see. but i’m honestly getting sick of tech bros ruining things for everyone else :/

telling someone you want to get to know them

Wanting to genuinely get to know someone without an agenda should be the new currency. Thinking someone is interesting and wanting to know a bit of their story is what makes this experience human. These types of exchanges are boosting the frequencyyyy. Listening without biased judgement is the most compelling you can be. I have learned I can't figure out who I am without other people.
