Life is so much more fun when you let yourself express how much you love someone or something without reservations. Don’t half ass it. Tell strangers with cool outfits how much you love their style. Tell your friends how much you love their company. Share your favourite books and movies with randos online, and go into excruciating detail about why. Tell your mom about your favorite memories from growing up. Let your fondness fill up so much space within you and around you - the world feels so much more magical when you let yourself get excited about what’s in it.

It occurs to me... that the posts I most connect with are ones where people unfurl their weirdo habits, values, inner lives (i love the "crush" genre of pi posts), ways of living, likes, dislikes, life philosophical points of view etc. I do treasure proper recs with an object, i.e. a new record or book or 8 hour youtube video, but I find myself really moved when someone shares how they live a good life. appreciating!!

We all pick up small habits and advice from the people we love that make our experience, here on earth, more enjoyable and abundant. Once we open ourselves up a little and talk to others, we realize that we have more in common with people than we think. And meet people who, like you, share those same interests. And if not, you can at least interchange opinions and perspectives and learn from that in someway for your personal growth.
I love when I’m going on about my day and someone recommends me a song they like, a book to read or a new place to eat. Having an app like letterboxd where I can connect with people that also like movies and expand my interest. How I discovered how much I like mate because of a girl I was with. How I cook some meals a certain way, because I enjoy them being prepared like that by my mother. How my friend and I go together to as many coffee shops as we can because we love that shared space. And I could go on… it’s interesting and beautiful seeing how there’s a little of each of us in one another.

I’ve been on a med for my ocd for one month as of today! Yippee! And I’m feeling really wonderful. I’ve been anti-med my whole life (because of my ocd i had a massive fear taking meds would fuck up my liver and kill me…lol) but my new and fantastic therapist (another separate rec) has helped me realize that I should try it… and omg LIFE CHANGING. I haven’t had any bad side effects (that I know of?) and have genuinely felt more productive and less anxious. like I can finally go to bed without worrying about my hair rubbing against my pillow, and can take a shower without having to Freak Out about stepping on the dirty floor.. like omg life is awesome and beautiful. People just are like this normally? Crazy. Thank you science and thank you therapy!
