i saw slumdog millionaire tonight after ages at the cinema and forgot what an emotional rollercoaster the film was. lots to talk about the film and some things that didn't sit right with me, but this theme is stuck in my head since i got out of the cinema and will be for the next few days. transcendent music really, the rest of the soundtrack is stunning too- using paper planes by mia over a sequence of the kids hustling in trains is pure genius
but also wtf is this windows xp photoshop ahh album cover lol

i have my criticisms of the movie but the brilliantly grating, ecstatic, soaring score is not one of them!!! i can think of few other soundtracks in such perfect sync with the vibes of the film

i just watched this film last week and it was instantly a new comfort film for me. the grading, the set design, the story, the wardrobe and THE SCORE! it’s so beautiful and i’m so glad i found bryce dessners solo music thanks to the film. the soundtrack has been on repeat. listening to it feels like a warm hug and it makes me want to sit by the ocean and ponder

the constant stimulation of loud busy music draws my focus from whatever is putting me off & keeps me distracted enough w/ everything that’s going on in the sounds & textures of the music (for this i like any album from every time i die , ultra pop by the armed , suicide season by bmth , garden of delete by oneohtrix point never)
the synth sounds in kid a feel so warm & round as soon as i hear the opening notes in everything in it’s right place it kinda does feel like everything is (in its right place)

skyfall (2012) i’ve seen daniel craig run around in tom ford like 25 times & i’ll happily see it 25 more , beautiful colours & clothes & kineticism , sometimes all you need is pretty pictures & a silly spy plot to bring you back into your good body

got myself a pistachio latte today at my local cafe cause it was their drink of the season, and oh my lord, i could have had 10 of them. beautiful.
a local gelato place also does the most subtle pistachio gelato which cures my deep void every time i have it

I was cleaning my sink today and noticed the tiniest seedling sprouting inside. i'm so confused at the dynamics of this and it blows my mind how life finds its way even in the darkest and murkiest environments
