Because it’s my debut EP and honestly Iā€˜m aware that this may seem like it, but I don’t do self-promo ever. I’m sharing this here because I’m so happy that I released this (finally), and I genuinely think that the community would see themselves represented in this project (deep thinking, spending so long alone making art etc) it’s an ep that shares a mutable perspective of loneliness, love of all kinds, ambition and freedom - it is a mostly fictional tale set to music with an unreliable narrator. It also serves as a tiny tribute to literary, musical—artistic rebellion and innovation of the past. 100% self-produced, engineered etc I wanted it to feel as though you’re opening an old scrapbook, or a secondhand book and perhaps there are suggestions of it’s previous owner. Hopefully I delivered that discovering an ā€œartefactā€ experience. part one of a collection of music heavily inspired by and laden with symbolism from film and 'glamour meeting decay'. I’m so tired but so relieved that it is out now.

so after years of working as a musician for other people, i decided to put out my own album - and it just came out at midnight last night! i would usually self-deprecate in a situation like this for a whole slew of self-preservation purposes but i think i’m just gonna try to be normal for a sec so uhhhhh i would love to know what you all think! i’ve linked the album here :) https://songwhip.com/thenheturnedaround/you-look-just-like-someone-i-knew-in-a-past-life thank you all so much for being such supportive and cool people. you’ve all single-handedly restored my faith in the beauty of online spaces and collectivism in general lol PS.: there’s also a cool visualizer on my instagram (i fucking hate premiere pro) that i think is pretty nifty. i linked it at the top of this post (chain icon)

I HATE doing promo with a PASSION (unless it's the fun kind where I make silly teaser videos that actually take effort) but I just put out a song! Started making it in December last year but just finished it last month for a school project. It's really influenced by Parannoul's 'To See the Next Part of the Dream' and Jane Remover's 'Frailty' as well as other things. Vocals are a bit rough since I'm not a great singer but other than that I'm pretty happy with it!

Shameless promo once again but alas I work Too Damn Hard to not at least try and show off my new music/video projects. Final single off my upcoming EP ā€Star of the Showā€ - all surrounding themes of romanticizing fame, the american dream, performance as catharsis, and pursuing what you love. Visualizer on YouTube shot on Super8mm (linked) out in Los Angeles of course and I’m really proud of it! For fans of: The Smashing Pumpkins, The Breeders, Chappell Roan, Maude Latour, Marina and the Diamonds, Weezer, Sleigh Bells, Veruca Salt, Paramore, Momma

I don’t think I need to explain why… but here are a couple of reasons: It is fun. It feels liberating. …and as much as my dreams tell me otherwise, I can’t actually fly and I can’t jump as far as I can swing.
