Doing another post of things I like up there that I think more people should see:
-Dover Stone Church. I had a vision here once right before Covid hit. Perhaps you could have one here too.
-Minnewaska State Park. They shot Severance here but the sky lake is a big hit for everyone.
-Chapel of Sacred Mirrors. Alex Grey, that did the album art for Tool’s album Lateralus houses his work here. It also serves as an interfaith church.
-The mines outside Kingston, NY. Great google/wikipedia dive. Really cool and terrifying. Open (I think!) to the public to visit.

🌄Truly a blessed and strange land. I grew up in the Beacon, NY area and it is always lovely to make day trips back home during the weekends. There are tons of lesser-known caves and gorges that dot the Hudson River watershed that are particularly fun to explore.
Some of my favorite towns (besides Beacon) are Rhinebeck, Kingston, and Cold Spring.

🏇one of my favorite quick trips i've ever taken - such a cute downtown (a lot of fun shopping / dining / bars), the architecture is IN. SANE. driving down union ave looking at houses was so fun. there's also a ton in the area that is a fun sub-trip - lake george (way trashier than i thought it would be but in a fun way, the lake itself is so beautiful), i randomly was transfixed by the albany downtown area bc the government buildings feel like evil villain headquarters from the 60s / 70s, ballston spa is cool and has interesting history. AND this whole area is right up against the adirondacks so the hiking is genuinely really good!!

Definitely recommend checking out random parks before the summer ends. I love seeing other people there just reflecting and taking everything in.

☄️Last Thursday, a meteor appeared in the night sky over Los Angeles. I stood in place for 30 seconds watching it blaze brilliant red and orange before fizzling out suddenly. The experience moved me immensely and filled me with a sense of hope that I hadn’t felt in quite some time. I read later that it was a SpaceX satellite. I wish I hadn’t.

💦There's something about a wet and humid early morning that heals my soul. It's like a free sound bath. Especially if you are lucky and have a little bit of thunder alongside.

I have done this everywhere that I have lived. There are some beautiful images lost on the discarded blank face of a postcard, and they deserve to be cherished just as much as the big piece of art you have framed in your living room. You can find many for cheap at your local thrift. There’s a lot of fun to be had in grouping different images together for a collage effect. Space them out a bit more if it all feels a bit claustrophobic. Use some blue painter's tape for a pop of color.
