Hardly knew anything about them, had just broke up with a crazy bitch of an ex, but moved in anyways. Barely lasted a month. left with even more trauma.

when I was 17, I let this girl I met at a party move in with me because she told me she was in-between foster homes. sheĀ ended up stealing so many of my prized possessions, but we enjoyed a month of deep friendship and exciting adventure togetherĀ before 4 cops showed up at my door with a wanted poster of her face.
now I'm only allowed to bring home small mammals and the occasional injured pigeon but that girl was pretty cool.

My friend Pia and I were looking for another roomie bc the other girl bailed. Pia got the word out to some people in the burbs, he (future lover) happened to be there and said he was down to move in. Out of desperation from searching, I didnāt care who lived with us as long as they paid rent.
We met the day we moved in and became super close friends, it was always respectful, platonic, best-buds type shit. We lived together for 2 years, Pia moved out after year 1. He ended up moving to CO after a life altering change.
The day he left was when I realized he was the perfect āoneā for me. I legit cried for weeks straight and we texted non stop every day. He came back a month later and said he really came back for me <3 8 years later, weāre still together and getting married on our 10 year roomie anniversary in October! Sometimes theyāre right under your nose, or in this case, under the same roof ;)

during freshers week, youāre actively encouraged to party crash the fancy accommodation houses, so me and someone I was seeing visited a house of people weād never met before. inside there was a quite reserved looking guy with a very upset vibe. he invited me over and we took turns drinking from this bottle of what was homebrewed vodka as we lamented on our lives. he told me heād just found out his girlfriend had cheated on him. as an 18 year old with very limited dating knowledge i tried my best to console him, but he kept saying āitās okā and told me that everyone had to feel it to grow, and there was no anger in him to fight with what had happened. he told me i was a good kid as we both finished the bottle and hugged each other. i left maybe 30 minutes later and i never saw him again, but i think about that poor guy every now and then.
