A great source of well written articles about the myths and misconceptions throughout history. From popularized photoshopped photos of "time travellers" to debunking hygine myths of the middle ages, theres many great articles to read and learn from. Jo Hedwig Teeuwisse, the author of these articles, has also written a book about historical myths titled 'Fake History: 101 Things that Never Happened', which I'm hoping I'll get the chance to read soon.

i know it’s become a serious concern / total joke but if you really get into it, it’s so wild. can’t believe no one has mentioned it. some of the ‘supporting evidence’ is suspiciously interesting, but it would really undo everything if true and isn’t personally provable. i flirt with conspiracy theories heavily and am entertained by them but Flat Earth remains the wildest.
here are some other faves:
multi-verse / parallel universes / Mandela effect, jesus was a mushroom, past life regression therapy discoveries (reincarnation), giants existing, reptilians/ aliens, hollow moon, advanced ancient civilizations (current fave: look into younger-dryas, 500+ cultural folktales / myths about the worldwide flood, and derinkuyu caves, gobekli tepi… lots of docuseries about this concept that advanced civilizations existed before a cataclysm and that archeologists societies are hiding and denying evidence)

everyday i make an effort to tell at least 3 fake fun facts. it's silly goofy and doesn't hurt anyone but it opens up conversations and i find i make friends quickly with these "facts" anyways did you know that scientists recently discovered that if humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time it would've been genetically possible for us to breed?

If you’re looking for a reliable and extensive resource for learning, I highly recommend JSTOR. It’s an online library filled with academic articles, books, and primary sources across a wide range of topics like history, science, literature, and more. The content is curated and trustworthy, making it a perfect place to explore in-depth research or even just to satisfy your curiosity about niche subjects. I use it all the time, and it’s my favorite platform for learning!
You should look into some niche philosophy and sociology topics—they’re super interesting! Like the philosophy of humor, which dives into why we laugh and how comedy connects us, or time perception across cultures, exploring how different societies experience time. Another cool one is the ethics of memory, looking at how communities decide what to remember or forget. Even stuff like moral luck (how much of morality is out of our control) or urban sociology (how city design impacts social behavior) is fascinating!

This website has many interesting articles on various works. Currently, I'm reading 'Modern Babylon: Ziggurat Skyscrapers and Hugh Ferriss’ Retrofuturism' by Eva Miller and 'The Future Imagined in Albert Robida’s La vie électrique (1890)' by Hunter Dukes. These articles and artworks heavily inspire the works I'm currently creating, from sketches to video games, even to campaigns.
