I started writing down my dreams first thing in the morning and I remember them so much more clearly now. Sometimes when I read it back, it feels like I can’t recall any of it but then i get a flash of recognition of a moments or setting, like little pieces of a film coming back to me.
I tr to also do a regular journal but am not as consistent, it’s in the same notebook but a different color pen. I’ve found it very helpful to write when I’m anxious, avoidant , or just struggling to turn my brain off.
