i try to text people every single time something reminds me of them or iām thinking of them
i use to think ādonāt be annoyingā but then i realized life is too short to not
i used to do this more often, but people wouldn't reply very much and i became very self conscious of the fact that i was basically talking to myself in 10 people's dms/texts. is this something you've also run into?
@26GIRLS yes, absolutely. this exact thing has also made me self conscious!! i had to get over that bump though and into the mindset of like āno love is ever wastedā? i think about how iām busy too, and i forget to respond to things, and i know the people i care enough about to shoot little texts off too arenāt ones who would purposefully ignore me. maybe they saw it in passing and it still made them smile. and if not?? i think thereās a lot of freedom in just letting yourself express love and appreciation without worrying about embarrassment. they donāt want to answer? they forgot to answer? at least i know it was something that made me feel joy to share with someone i love regardless of the outcome!
I know it's kind of cliche, but I always send a text to let my loved ones know I'm there for them. It's quick for both of us to chat & respond, and it gives the other person the time and space needed to respond when they feel ready to do so.
Sometimes life gets busy and I do a bad job of keeping in touch with my old friends so when I think of them Iāll just send them a random text asking how life is going or just saying hi to them or Iāll send them a random meme
It feels uncomfortable sometimes to text people randomly but it always makes me happy once I do it
