Almost assumed that you just forgot to list DeLillo because he goes so well with what else you listed. This book is amazingly relevant all around. I'd also look into A Vist From The Goon Squad

edit: after re-reading your ask, I’ll admit not the weirdest book, but it’s also definitely not run of the mill narrative fiction.
If you want weird, read Naked Lunch by William Burroughs. One of the most banned books of all time for a reason, grotesque, obscene, challenging, but imo definitely worth the read and I’ll be rereading it sometime. Helps to read along with a study guide to make sure you’re following what’s going on.

Sorry Don. I think I get it. I appreciate your style and worldview. But I’m no longer gripped. I’ll always love White Noise 🫡

Just finished this today, so that's my first book of 2025 completed. Mao II was one of the best books I read last year, so naturally I was drawn to his other work.
Underworld is incredible, I love how all-encompassing, how human, how unpredictable his work is. The way that the individual segments come together is phenomenal.
