if you want to hear a certain song sometimes you gotta make it first (as an added bonus this usually takes 100+ tries)
😃
I spent two years seriously learning to produce after 5 years of lazy messing around with GarageBand and logic. Still nothing turns out the way I want it to 😢 my rec would be to skip learning production. Take your songs to a professional producer at a recording studio. They’ll probably do a better job than you will after years of learning and you could have a bunch of songs done in like a week. Ik everyone recommends becoming a bedroom producer, but the people who actually make decent songs are usually lying about how DIY/self taught their work is and give people unrealistic expectations. Ofc I’ve made a lot of progress on producing but there are so many skills you have to learn before you can fully self release a song of professional quality. So if you want your songs to sound professional quality and ready for streaming, you should just hire a professional

plug all your friends' instruments/mics into a mixer and then plug the output of that mixer into an audio interface hooked up to a computer to record it into a DAW. or just plop a handheld recorder in the middle of the room and let it ride. or just huddle really close around someone's phone recording on voice memos. depends how much gear you have. as far as rules, i'd say treat it like improv theater/comedy. don't say no to any idea, just "yes, and-"

noticing life and slowing things down has helped with every stress my body has, it's also got me going on walks to places i've never been before. I go alone and do walkie talkies sometimes too, which is like an audio journal log. i also get some cool pictures out of it.

waking up at 7am today has been a painfully dreadful existence, and i've only been awake for 52 minutes. How do people do this?
