i agree with the others. you can never go wrong with a suit/blazer + shirt combo. and it doesn't have to be boring, you can play with colors, textures, or patterns.  and add some accessories to make it more interesting. jewelry, belt, pin, anything that suits your vibe. i think a big belt worn over the jacket is a cool styling choice. also a nice pair of dress shoes or ankle boots with unique details can elevate your look (see the guy in the black suit, his outfit is simple and classic, but that pair of boots add some flair to his look–subtle but cool)

not a fashion expert but i do spend a lot of time scrolling through depop and buying new clothes ! the best advice i can give is that a shirt with a little bit of spice can never go wrong, whether that’s a unique colour, an interesting pattern or a nice material. this shirt i bought is my go-to formalwear and i usually combo it with a pair of tux trousers or even some corduroys if im feeling experimental. shoe wise cant go wrong with a pair of browns (I can typically get away with wearing some brown docs for a formal event but you do whats appropriate). jacket not needed but certainly an option. hope the search goes well!

i love wearing a suit for no reason. running errands? sitting in a coffee shop? taking yourself out to eat? wear a suit. it will make you feel cool and important and mysterious!

I love wearing a suit or sport jacket in a casual way. I'm absolutely comfortable in them and just feel good. They have as much charm as a more formal suit, but styling them is more open-ended, and leads to richer, more fun outfits. And it just feels good to show up to a casual occasion wearing a suit and still fit in because you styled it that damn well. (link is to a pinterest board)

last night i had a heart-to-heart with a friend/co-worker about our strained friendship. we’d been distancing ourselves from each other for the past year because of some misunderstandings. it made me sad for a while, especially since i was struggling with mental health, so losing a friend felt like a punch in the solar plexus. but then i came to terms with the possibility that we might never talk again, but this acceptance was not out of resentment, just the realization that some friends are not meant to be close friends.  but it all changed yesterday. we didn’t even plan to have that talk, it just came out organically during a casual chat after a long period of no real conversations, just the occasional forced small talk since we see each other at work all the time. this time we talked for hours, like we used to before our falling out, and eventually addressed the elephant in the room. we both realized that we had unknowingly done things that made each other feel unseen and hurt in the past, so we apologized and forgave each other. i’m really glad that we had a heart-to-heart where we could be honest about our feelings without being defensive or blaming each other. it was all about understanding one another, acknowledging our shortcomings, learning from our mistakes, and taking accountability for our actions.    having a heart-to-heart is special. navigating a conflict is uncomfortable, but it’s an opportunity for growth and deeper connection.
