the movie is just so darn good let's admit it. I love that at any moment the whole thing could have been a disaster (pun intended?) but instead somebody made the right decision. at times the dialogue verges on unhinged, yet the actors somehow totally pull it off and I forgive it. the effects hold up and the ship looks amazing. the music is beautiful and exciting. the irish dancing scene when they spin each other around and it's all in POV camera angles should be so cheesy but it's PERFECT. the movie brings you up up up and down down down. an impeccable, precarious balance. masterful I must say. I love this movie.
@SALAD_VALET the double vhs 😭 every time I watch it on DVD I expect it to stop and prompt me to switch tapes after the captain says "I believe you may get your headlines Mr Ismay"
what an insane movie!! gripping story with all-time career performances from everybody and insane cinematography. and don't get me started about the music! legitimately a career highlight for everyone involved. a movie that reminds you why you love movies!
saw it in 3D for the 25th anniversary in february 2023. basic ass answer but my heart was beating so fast and i bawled my eyes out. never reacted to a movie so strongly before in my life.
Why is this movie still as good as the first time I watched it?
Some people may disagree but like brooooooo that shits almost perfect, the dialogue, the shenanigans they get into, the casting, everything is just soooo good I love that movie so much
because doing them on a phone or computer is so unsatisfying. give me a pen and a 2-year old partially completed xword and a clipboard - it's the best way to do it! so immensely fulfilling to finish the whole thing on pen and paper. PEN AND PAPER!!! not as good as the OG newsprint but it's the next best thing.
