It always feels like I've found a little treasure chest. I wonder what projects people started or hoped to start before their yarn was donated to a charity shop. I bought some blue, white and pink so if you have any suggestions on what I should make please let me know.

DO NOT LET YOURSELF BUY THAT YARN. you will go into a spiral of buying more and more yarn. every single time you will convince yourself that it looks cool and that you’ll use it and then you end up with a huge collection of yarn.… but also yarn is very cool so do what you want with this rec ;)

fabric arts people love love love sharing! i am a knitter/crocheter/sewer and literally everything i have ever done i have just googled "easy X crochet pattern" or whatever and there are a BILLION options. you'll find particular resources that you are into that you can then bookmark, but seriously i would just search with the parameter that you are looking for beginner level patterns and you'll find tons and tons.

because everyone who enters eventually gets tangled and i’m warmed by their hesitancy to escape. you can do a lot with yarn, arm yourself with acrylic sport weight or a cotton blend, collect needles and hooks and you’re everyone’s friend. of course i’ll make you a hat!

This is my new favourite kind of crochet project. It's great for using up small balls of yarn/scraps and they can be relatively quick projects if you keep them small (the apple one is 17x47, the bow one is 20x20, the swan one is 24x27 stitches) so if you get bored with projects quickly it's a good choice. There are so many different grids you can find I get mine off Pinterest. Since my pieces are very small I think I'm going to sew them all together plus more to create a pillow case, but there are so many other things you can with with this technique like framing them or using this style of colour work in a larger piece like a jumper.
