Its all I see on my IG reels. It’s cool to cheer and shout & scream the lines or whatever, but throwing popcorn + soda through the aisles + air horns + setting shit off in the screening room is just lame corny band kid shit, especially since all the minimum wage workers gotta deal w the mess afterwards. Before we had the problem of not enough people going to the movies, now we have the problem of way too many ppl going and starting all sorts of bullshit ruckus. Covid was a disaster for civilization cause we all got way too comfortable in our own homes and forgot basic etiquette and manners.

i PROMISE you, your commentary is not more entertaining than the movie we all paid to see. don't talk if others around you can hear, get off your phone, stop bringing full meals into the theater. idk what happened to our theater etiquette but it seems to have disappeared. you are not the main character, the people on the screen are!!

At the risk of sounding like a crusty old codger, it's a bad development that lots of people nowadays talk at full volume and can't get off their phones in the theater. However laughing, crying, and shrieking–these are actually good.

I’m the exact same way. I hate when people talk during a movie in the theater, and it seems like everyone my age thinks chattering the whole time is an essential part of the moviegoing experience. Ultimately it’s a trade-off of do you wanna talk about a movie with your friends as soon as possible vs do you wanna have an ideal theater experience

I don’t understand how yall end up at these random ass places you do, come across the books on ancient polyrhythmic science or whatever you read, listen to those indescribably niche tracks I’ve never heard of before or since, or host art installations from your makeshift garage, but I love hearing about every little bit of it, beyond fascinating to know all your stories and passions and the things that occupy ya mind and keep you alive. It’s like a big canvas comprised of different jagged pieces that all add up to a whole. I’ve only been on the app for two weeks or so and it’s already partly helped me heal from a lotta past grief and pain so I’m grateful to interact with yall.

It’s cool to learn new things, it’s cool to develop some new skills. It’s cool to be able to access a whole bunch of data and knowledge at your fingertips. Don’t let some guy on a podcast become your father figure or give you financial advice or try to anoint you with another monolithic identity not too dissimilar from the one you vowed to leave behind. Life doesn’t get any better, but YOU do.
