JPEGMAFIA is an anomaly. his production melds so many styles of music together, ranging from the sounds of hip hop, EDM, rock, and so many other moments and references from music history. i honestly just have to say that this album is fucking crazy, and every song sets off a little explosion in my brain that makes me crave for more. he starts off the album with i scream this in the mirror before i interact with anyone, an experimental rap/metal/dubstep song that absolutely FUCKS. however, later in the album comes either on or off the drugs, where the beat highlights Peggy’s masterful sampling ability with a more “traditional” beat, making the album so damn charismatic. i’ve listened to it a good three times through in two days, so i just had to make this rec.
