one of my best friends got me this little ceramic piece for my birthday a few years ago. since then it’s been on and off command hooks, tucked away behind other gimmicks and shielded from the world as a fall risk. Waiting to be hung up and used in a garden, perhaps.
The other day I said fuck it, I need a paint tray. The little heart is a perfect little placeholder for my thumb. I get to think of my best friend every time I paint in my sketchbook.
