my birthday month!! the april showers make for amazing naps, it finally gets warmer but not too warm. the flowers are blooming! tulips, daffodils, azaleas, i even love the dandelions. everyone comes out of hibernation and has a new lust for life after being cooped up in the house all winter. all the great fruits start making a comeback: strawberries, mango, oranges. AND THE CLOTHES!! warm enough for short sleeves but you can still layer a cute jacket. i also feel like that’s when new music releases start back up. all around, just a fantastic time.

it’s my birthday month but it’s also a time of more sunny days, so mental health dramatically improves and flowers start to bloom

I love the rain. I love the flowers. I love the birds. I love the worms. I love the hope I feel realizing it’s not cold anymore. It makes me feel alive again!! We got married April 7 just because I wanted something to celebrate in April :)

not just because it's my birthday month, but it's spring (in the southern hemisphere), winter is finally over, it's spooky season, things are warmer, nuff said.

started rebuilding my cd collection from scratch last year and i love getting to hold my favorite albums in my hands. reading the lyrics from the fold feels like reading the writer’s journal. in a time when everything feels disposable, it’s nice to feel like the songs that shape you get a place in your home too.

one of my favorite hobbies is listening to music and writing reviews in my journal. this year i’m going through rolling stones top 500 songs of all time and keeping a playlist of the ones i feel are truly five stars. my ranking system is fully instinctive. there‘s some weight to it, but it’s mostly based on feeling.

i love taking myself out for dinner. im an extrovert, so i truly love spending time with people, but if i don’t take intentional time with myself i’ll lose track of my own thoughts and creativity. at least once a month i schedule a dinner with just me. i usually bring a book, could be a novel or an art book. i always have my journal on me, so i take the time to reflect on the last month of life. i get to just have a conversation with my own thoughts. i always finish my meal inspired and ready to move forward.
