Started a job that kept me so whirlwind insane, dervish-style, for the next four-ish years, and solo travelled for the first time that year, multiple places. Looking back I guess it really was formative. I was too busy, I don't think I ever processed this. Only regret is missing out on a private concert with Prince (I'd time travel for that), because I was a workaholic idiot and decided to stay at work instead of joining friends and colleagues.

I went to bars by myself just to read and listen to the music. I learned recently that’s the freedom you gain when you go places alone. I spend so much of my life unintentionally waiting for permission to do things. Waiting on someone else to want to do things with me. It’s sort of weird being an adult and being allowed to just go to another country because you feel like it. It’s a freedom that I’ve never been brave enough to explore before. I wonder if this experience was a as weird and wonderful for anyone else as it was for me. (img: sketch of a cathedral i went to on my solo trip)

Back in April I went to the PNW for 11 days solo! This trip pushed me and taught me so much about myself. I did a bunch of hiking even though before this I wouldn’t have called myself a hiker. Driving through remote areas with poor reception forced me to trust myself. I loved the solitude and nature and who I became on this trip. I also got 2 tattoos (my first!!) and worked through my fear of needles! I’m tougher than I think.

Ugh god I cannot rave enough about how important that trip was to me. Not only that I got to see my favorite band life (Again hehe), but I also met again with amazing friends I made there and got to know so many cool and amazing people. My socials worries just seem to melt away when I’m there and I’ve really enjoyed it. To be honest I am kinda sad that I didn’t do ATLEAST a bit of sight seeing, but in the big picture I don’t really regret it, I had to sleep off my hangover anyway.

it's totally cool to age and society still isn't equipped to deal with that.

Sometimes you try your best and everything seems to hit the fan no matter how much you try, so you take that raincheck and take yourself out for a day.

This is what I call it hahahah made by mums everywhere but the greased up version is sold along stalls in Mumbai. Two regular slices of white bread, buttered, and the middle filling is cream cheese with red onions, coriander/cilantro, tomatoes and some minced chillis. All veggies chopped mini cube size so they blend with the cheese. Toasted crispy.
