Grape hyacinth simple syrup🪻

Just made some using these bad boys! Grape hyacinths are super common this time of year so there’s a good chance you could find some nearby! 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup of these flower bulbs and you’ll have a richly purple, subtly earthy/bitter syrup. Going to make some cocktails tonight using it and maybe pour it on some pancakes tomorrow.

classic summery vibes and flavors i want in my drink all season, so i use my just-past-ripe or even half my stash to make syrups (and sometimes jam when my ratio is off) to throw in a cold and/or sparkly bev and everyday i have a little treat

I’m too dear with lovely things. I keep the brooch my 2nd grade teacher gave me in a box, safe, and because of this I’ve never worn something I really like! I recently decided I needed to wear my brooch with the sweater I finished knitting this weekend. It made it feel even more special. :)

The contrast Between the bright green of new growth and the darker old scales of a cedar tree leaves

I was talking to a friend who’s visiting home after being abroad and we both agree that not seeing familiar trees fills you with a certain longing/loneliness. I love western red cedars!
