yess as an artist I've definitely seen other artists irl or online post stuff that has a pinterest reference that i recognize or have used! It's so strange to see and it's always the same 4 pics. my fave new way of finding inspo is finding local zines/magazines/artists/photo or art books, wayyyyy more innovative and cool

I don't follow one specific artist, on every social media i have, but always having some type of art media in my feed makes my day better. i love when i see music videos from 16 years ago on youtube, or the new project someone is working on on instagram.

go to community-focused galleries/film festivals/poetry readings/etc in your area and see what people are doing you'll meet other like-minded people, you'll be inspired but less intimidated bc you met the real human person behind the work, or you'll see some stuff you think is really shitty and you'll be inspired to prove yourself by making something better it's all a win-win AND you'll be supporting local artists

Every time I look something up on Google images, more and more of the results are AI slop. Itโ€™s lit a fire under me to collect more books - been looking at the art & fashion sections of used book stores and building up my library. Itโ€˜s also nice to have a finite source to seek inspiration from rather than getting caught in an infinite scroll.

she'd be so impressed that I made it out of my hometown and so surprised that I don't hate it anymore. shed think I was so cool going to art school in Paris, she'd also be completely surprised and goated that I'm dating that one twerp from years ago.
