you don't have to care if other people like things you don't, or vice versa. life is much nicer this way

remember that most people here, and on the rest of the internet, know just as little as you. my time on instagram has shown me that likes and followers do not dictate good taste. my time on reddit has shown me that upvotes do not dictate good taste. internet recommendations might be a good starting point, but they are kind of a crutch. Don't rely too much on recommendations, don't treat them as gospel, don't use them to replace your own taste. develop good taste for yourself. it makes life tastier.

I get it sometimes, but at some point especially if I’m providing, you have to be honest and a little more mature about it, you can’t have everything all the time! the enjoyment principle is actually bad sometimes!

why be negative when you can be positive. If you see someone do something dumb just ignore it (unless it’s especially funny then you can share it with friends another time). We only live once so best to focus on the positives. When you’re nice to others you feel much better yourself. And everyone’s constantly learning, making mistakes anyway so while other people may seem uninformed sometimes, you also will be at points and you wouldn’t want to be ridiculed for that. As for others being negative, just nod along and ignore. Or try to change the topic.
