maybe a hot take but as long as you can practice some restraint, maintaing a haircut yourself is pretty satisfying. And low key I think I know my hair better than any hairdresser and I have had many dark years with horrible haircuts so I’m going to give my ends a little snip snip refresh every few weeks
i think it’s good to practice at least yearly. it’s humbling and after the panic and maybe tears you’ll realize it really doesn’t matter and maybe it’ll come out cool if you stick with it
i like cutting my own bangs it brings my joy and it feels like shedding my skin, if i mess up i mess up i lowk don’t sweat it anymore it’s like amazing
i like doing it myself, but having someone else do it is ok too. it doesnt need to look goood. just remove a lot, give it a few days to settle, and clean it up. just experience air on the back of your neck. phenominal and reinvigorating! snip snip
