I found him a year or so ago on TikTok because he was singing his song called ‘Wienerschnitzel’, which details him as a young Jewish kid taking the risk and ordering a bratwurst and eating it even though he knows that it goes against his religion As he bites into the food, he just waits for God to punish him. But nothing happens. As someone who has struggled with religion in the past, and still does sometimes, I really love how this song assesses shame in religion in a lighthearted way. His songs sound like short films put to music. He put an album out last July, and this another one of my favorite tracks of his. This one talks about trying to hold back on giving advice, rather than just comforting a friend. it’s just too relatable. love his stuff

A fun, frantic, biting song that comforts me in the ubiquitous nature of vices, be it belief or drug use. Why go through life agnostic or sober?

I’ve been listening to a lot of Slaughter Beach, Dog recently. They are a great band, if you haven’t heard of them. They do a lot of spoken word songs which I find incredibly interesting and cool and I’m kind of obsessed with. I’m impressed by the bravery of essentially setting a poem to music. It feels incredibly vulnerable — sometimes I don’t know if I’m cringing or if what I’m listening to is just breaking down some sort of wall between listener and artist that makes me a bit uncomfortable. I’m not even sure if what I’m listening to is “good”. It’s noteveryone’s cup of tea, for sure, but it certainly is mine :)
I’m wondering if any of you guys feel this way about something?

The instagram algorithm gifted me this song, no idea what 99% of the lyrics mean except for the hook of german-accented “Vhat Da Helly!” but he does say something like “2.5 ein mein spliff, strain is cali” and honestly thats enough for me. Half ironically half earnestly goes so hard

You don't always have to be doing something productive or creative. Sometimes it is okay to just take a step back and exist.

I've posted about this once before and will post about it again, I'm sure. One of the things that I have noticed since getting letterboxed last year is how afraid people are to admit they like something. that new animated k-pop movie on netflix made me notice this again when three of the people that I have on there prefaced their reviews with a variant of "i consumed this ironically, but it was actually kind of good..." ...LAME... and a little bit pathetic to see tbh. We really need to remember that you only live once. just fucking enjoy the stuff you like, and stop asking the world for permission and acceptance to do so! being so afraid of what others will think when you post a review under a kid's movie is more cringe than admitting you like a kid's movie.
