Critics had a poor opinion of this movie upon release, and I still get funny looks from people when I say this is my favorite robin hood. Must have watched it a hundred times growing up. I recently found a VHS copy just to put on my shelf so I could see the dust cover that was so ubiquitous during childhood.
The reason to watch this movie is for the Sheriff of Nottingham played by the spectacular Alan Rickman. Certainly one of the top five villains of all time. Rickman even had a low opinion of the movie while filming and had a friend come in to punch up his lines. And I gotta say, it was the right call 😤
