My recent hyperfixation has been using journals! Long-form journaling has been such a useful habit i’ve been very consistent with recently, but now I try to hand-write as much as possible. I use a pocket notebook to keep my to-do list, shopping lists, etc. Pictured is my gym log!

this is only a habit i have picked up in the last year, but it has made a world of difference. i will write about things that i am thinking about or stuff i need to do or just chronicle my day. i just find it very grounding or like a reset to my thought processes.

i love my journals. especially now because everything is online it is a great chance to hold something real and write! i keep two- one for photos (a junk journal/scarpbook) and one for just my handwriting. it’s not a diary, there are a lot of personal entries tho. it’s more of a book for my daily thoughts and experience. whatever i need to write down! i study french in there, memorize lines, make to do lists, and doodle too! it takes the stress of the book away and lets me to really use it since there’s no limits! it’s also a great place to keep my stickers and postcards…all the stuff you want to keep and don’t know what to do with!

I am a pretty obsessive documenter. I seem to have bad memory, which got me into keeping record of things as much as i can. I’ll be taking photos on my iphone, videos on my camcorder (for onion vlogs i make every month), and i keep FOUR diaries with all different purposes. 1: sorta like a gratitude journal. Simple bullet points of things i “liked, lacked, learned, longed for” and thank yous. 2: a “throw up” notebook where i throw up all my thoughts. 3: a simple scheduler thats a weekly format hobonichi. 4: an hourly day-to-day diary that i fill up retroactively to learn any patterns and habits. Kinda like self-research.

In the age where the ‘value menu’ is a concept that means less than ever before, the Cheesy Bean & Rice Burrito might be the last of its kind. Delicious, filling, and under 2 dollars (before tax)

Recently read this and it totally blew me away. So simple but felt it was deeply profound.

Been finally getting back into it the past couple of days! If you have access to an espresso machine (mine is a cheap, entry level one), the ritual of making espresso is the perfect way to start your morning. The grinding of the beans. Tamping the grounds in a portafilter. The trial and error of pulling a good shot. The feeling when you finally get it dialed in. It’s a deeply rewarding process. Saves money in the long term too!
