While I listen to a lot of music without guitars (and definitely mostly without flashy guitars) now, I've realized that really fuzzy guitars are why I fell in love with music.
I love the act of composition, I love experimental rhythms and extended chords, but when I started really caring about music it was not because of a Brian Wilson composition but because of an extremely loud J Mascis guitar solo, and that will always be my favorite thing to hear
