getting a tattoo simply bc you can and want to

I have 6, all fine linework except for a trad style convo heart on my upper thigh. I love hand poke from professionals - it’s super intimate and a lot of the artists I followed when I lived in Austin almost exclusively did hand poke work instead of machine. they are not blown out and have not faded :-) I think long and hard about placement, but I just get stuff I want from artists I love. Not everything has to have A Deep Meaning. My faves are a pear on my right forearm (stranger: why the pear? me: I love pears), “form” on the back of my left arm, and the lightbulb eye from Picasso’s Guernica above the inside of my right elbow. tattoos are sexy as hell, and I plan to keep collecting them for the rest of my life. The pain to me usually feels like someone scratching a sunburn - worst was my finger since it’s close to bone and the convo heart since the artist went IN! it can be really bad or very tolerable, but I have genuinely enjoyed talking to all of the artists who have given me their work and just focus on the overall experience ✨ the more shading/color, the more it’s gonna hurt and the more intensive the healing process

If you have any cool placement ideas or tattoos let me know!💐 So far I have only my right upper arm tattooed, one of my cat in a heart shaped locket and a fantastic mr fox apple above my elbow! I loveee nature themed tattoos and am thinking of getting a lily, pine branch, tree rings, mountain range, a deer or a dragonfly at some point :)

opinions on tats having meanings?

im getting my first tat in two weeks and its defo not gonna be my last, but i really thought it through with its meaning and im getting a water lily and in the future defo more stuff with meaning but like i also wanna get stupid tats of things i just find pretty or cool or like related to my hobbies but everyones like oh youll regret it in the future blablabla, was wondering about what people outside of my irls think pls lmk

sometimes, its not for you.

it really sucks to lend a lot of time and effort to something, only to realize it doesnt light you up as much as you thought it would. that just happened to me. however, it means i have more energy to put into the things that make me feel good. :)

meet molly!

i met this sweet and shy puppy for the second time yesterday. she was abused by a previous owner and in turn has a very reserved personality. she glides around slowly and has these soulful, calm eyes that she rarely lifts from the floor. out of the blue, she sat beside me and pushed her small head against my palm, wanting to be pet. i damn near CRIED! she's never been this sweet to me. what a wonderful soul.
