Their music exemplifies how the avant-garde need not be aloofly off-putting (though I like plenty of that ilk as well) but can be playful, inviting, dare I say whimsical (since whimsy appears to be a main preoccupation of the PI community) See also: "Dishwasher" by Amy Denio for another example of this Avant-garde but blissful is what I often aim for when composing pieces myself

Debussy transcends his Impressionist roots for a new century. Bolder and more striking melodies and themes for a new world, marching into the future. Also, can we bring back Gilded Age fashion? This girl's outfit is adorable as hell.

I got Apple Music classical recently. absolutely love it. If youā€™re reading this and havenā€™t taken the classical-pill yet, you have to give it a try. It has all the calming space out lock in effects of ambient musicā€” but if you care to really tune into the music itself itā€™s astonishing how beautiful it can be. Growing up, I thought it was music for the diaperprolesā€” babies & senior citizens. I was so wrong. Such grace, such clarity, such overwhelming force, such tenderness, such vehement, electrifying ENERGY all expressed completely wordlessly. By a means that surpasses words. Wordcelsisters, we never stood a chanceā€¦ Iā€™ve been on a huge Russians kick currently. Prokofiev, Rachmoninov, Stravinsky, Scriabin, Tvhaikovsky. Some pieces that Iā€™ve really been enjoying recently, in no particular order: Schumannā€™s piano concerto in A minor performed by Marta Argerich. Rossiniā€™s overture from la gazza ladra Prokofievā€˜s dance of the knights from Romeo & Juliet Stravinskyā€™s rite of spring Vladikir Ashkenazyā€™s rendition of Chopinā€™s 15th nocturne Iā€™m also convinced that ā€œSmile Sessionsā€ is the best pop album ever made. If anyone can provide any evidence to the contrary Iā€™d be delighted. But in the meantime, Iā€™ll continue listening to ā€The Teenage Symphony to Godā€ front to back ad infinitum

They're like the Goldilocks zone between a total lack of stimulus and the overload of modernity; and quite moving seeing the slight signs of decay in these monuments of antisepticness
