What a lovely little song!! I’m transported into a French countryside or maybe Italian countryside or maybe anywhere with SPF on but beautiful sun rays and perhaps some wildflowers along the road sure fine!!!

Iconic. This song -- her best known, and featured in my EP book "An Ideal For Living" -- is almost proto-emo in its articulation of heartache and existential loneliness. Loose translation from French: "My days like my nights Are in all alike situations Without joys and full of problems No one whispers "I love you" in my ear" Au revoir mon cher François, que ta musique t'emporte toujours vers le ciel.

this is one of my favorite songs by françoise hardy. if you don’t know who she is she was a french musician from the 60s & 70s. bob dylan even refused to play a show if he didn’t meet her first before performing, even said she was his ideal woman.
this isn’t my favorite album but this is my favorite song besides the classic “le temps de l’amour” that’s beloved by anyone who’s ever watched a wes anderson movie.
check françoise hardy out if you’re interested in hearing some 60s french pop/folk!!

Honestly it was hard to pick between the “you’ll be here in my heart!!!” ad-lib at 3:16 and the epic key change at 2:54, but either way both of these things make for Disney’s greatest movie theme of all time. In the words of Ron Fair, CHORUS 3 WE GOTTA PAY IT OFF!!!
