If you have a knack for getting people together, and enjoy the art of hosting and creating a warm/cozy space, this is your sign to LEAN INTO IT and organize something cute and special in your hometown! Let it be a soup & pie party, a zine-making event, a crochet night, anything!! People talk about community so much on the internet, yet very few have the courage or care to lay the foundational brick to make it happen. Big things come from small places-- let the small space you make be the birthplace of big things :)

a coffee shop, running club, pottery class, karaoke night etc. Whatever thing ur into. Go to places where you can do that thing regularly. Eventally and usually pretty organically you will begin to make friends with people. People who you probably have alot in common with because you already have a shared interest. Yay! I moved to a new state about a year ago knowing no one. I joined an improv class and now I have a whole network of people that I never expected to know. From that network you'll meet other people and so and so on.

these two things have been huge for helping me get a healthy level of community. oh there’s an event that looks cool that you saw on socials? go. don’t have anyone to go with? didn’t ask. you’ll meet cool people there. someone is putting on something or invited you to come with them to something? you’re going. oh you don’t know that person super well? don’t care. you’re going to get to know them now. being introverted just means you need a balance of socializing and solitude, but you don’t get community in isolation. if a door opens to you and it seems cool, don‘t deny yourself an experience! approaching it with the mindset of going to build community and meet people and broaden your horizons will get you far.

BOOK CLUBS! I just started a book club with a friend today and even tho the idea has only been in the air for a couple of hours I LOVE IT! It has brought so much joy into my life! Maybe we need more community building opportunities?

I have to disagree with the people who say that we need to “stay” and “fight“ for IG to be a better platform because in actuality, it’s our presence and engagement that gives them data, and therefore money. As long as they have those 2 things, they make their bottom line and won’t really care about its users desires unless they’re making a move for the optics. If we REALLY want to hold them accountable, we need to impact the money they make, which means permanently deleting or marking your account as inactive & never coming back. They’ll only care if they’re bleeding money— so make them bleed.

As someone who has terrible object permanence and can NEVER remember the existence of something if I can't see it (this includes objects AND goals), it was quite literally the best way to keep awareness of my long term goals, even when life started falling apart and getting hectic. At the end of the year I always look at my vision board and realize that I genuinely fulfilled a good majority of the goals on there, and it's so sweet Always keep your eyes on the prize yall and always dare to dream !!!
