or a book store.. i could spend hours picking up books based on covers i like, reading the back, and then adding it to my want to read list also i love wandering around an antique mall if you google ones that are driving distance.. i love looking at vintage art and glassware and furniture

Constantly checking out books from the library

i have 9 out right now and in no world am i finishing all 9 of them (including a 500 page oral history of the soviet union and like a 550 page one about the manson murders). but i really love checking books out, really satisfies some sort of innate consumer impulse in me. and i love having books around me.

LOOKING THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY BOOKS

i feel like sometimes i buy different types of art books because of the excitement of reading through them and actually taking everything in, getting inspiration, for research.. etc. but then they lay on my shelf for months and i never get to them. it’s silly to say this but it’s literally like browsing through pinterest or tumblr irl and even better given that they’re all specifically curated and usually offer some really cool information #physicalmediaforthewin

SOLO MUSEUM DATES

i went to the met alone a few days ago and it was so wonderful. not having anyone with me allows me the luxury of spending as long as i want in an exhibit or at an artwork. no rushing from my impatient family or fear of inconveniencing them by spending 5 minutes at one painting. it was just me and my music, so peaceful. i’m definitely doing it again.

having time to be in bed

literally nothing is better than having 3 or 4 hours where i can just lie in my bed on my ipad or reading my book or napping. truly one of the best luxuries of life

FINISHING A BOOK

no matter how long it takes me, the satisfaction of reading a book cover to cover is unmatched. i like to give myself as much time as i need to read and not force a deadline on myself. i’ve found this makes reading much more enjoyable and i actually retain much of what i read.
