something so scrumptious about browsing books at a library or bookstore. seeing all the different kinds of literature i could read and stories i could experience. tooooo good
or a book store.. i could spend hours picking up books based on covers i like, reading the back, and then adding it to my want to read list
also i love wandering around an antique mall if you google ones that are driving distance.. i love looking at vintage art and glassware and furniture
i have 9 out right now and in no world am i finishing all 9 of them (including a 500 page oral history of the soviet union and like a 550 page one about the manson murders). but i really love checking books out, really satisfies some sort of innate consumer impulse in me. and i love having books around me.
literally nothing is better than having 3 or 4 hours where i can just lie in my bed on my ipad or reading my book or napping. truly one of the best luxuries of life
Mary Oliver has such a wonderful appreciation and connection to the natural world and itβs felt through her writing. Upstream is a collection of essays all with the central idea of the complexity of nature and our role as humans in the world. The influence Emerson and Whitman have on her writing is very apparent. A must-read!
